RainWatch

Showers that had been falling across the central North Island overnight have been falling apart as they moved north this morning.

A few showers can be expected about Raglan, Auckland, the Coromandel Peninsula and Northland as we head through this afternoon.

The rest of the North Island should be dry this afternoon.  Taranaki, the Kapiti Coast and Wellington could see a few showers after sunset.

On the South Island, the west coast has managed to dry out a bit late this morning.  The break in the rain won’t last long though as showers are expected to redevelop late this afternoon and tonight.

Tomorrow, broad westerly flow strengthens.  However, it should remain focused on the South Island.  That means most of the rain tomorrow should be falling on the Mainland’s west coast.

A Southern Ocean front will also be factor tomorrow.  It’s expected to advance on the country and should bring some wet weather to the deep south by tomorrow evening.

On the North Island, a few showers will be possible about Wellington and the Kapiti Coast.
