A slow moving front brings heavy rain to the lower North Island today especially in the west, easing southerlies over the South Island with mostly sunny conditions out west and drizzle gradually clearing in the east.

Cloudy with brisk northwesterlies. Scattered rain moves in this afternoon,
persistent for a time this evening then clearing around midnight with a
southerly change.

Bay Of Plenty

Cloudy with freshening northwesterlies. Scattered rain moves in this
afternoon, persistent for a time this evening then clearing overnight with a
southerly change.
Highs: 18-19

Central North Island & Waikato

Cloudy with a few light showers moving in this morning, breezy
northwesterlies. This afternoon rain develops possibly heavy then clearing
around midnight, winds change southerly later this evening.
Highs: 14-17

Eastern North Island

Rain develops this morning about the Wairarapa with a southerly change,
rain and southerlies pushing into Hawkes Bay around midday then further north
into Gisborne late afternoon / evening. Rain may be heavy at times especially
about the ranges. Before rain arrives expect high cloud and
northwesterlies.

Taranaki

Rain develops early this morning becoming heavy for a time in the
afternoon. Brisk northwesterlies change southerly late afternoon, rain clears in
the evening.

Rain this morning with heavy falls developing, rain eases this afternoon as
northwesterlies change southerly. Rain clears in the evening.

Wellington

Rain this morning with heavy falls possible, easing around midday to the
odd shower which gradually clears. Fresh cool southerlies ease later.

Rain eases to the odd shower early this morning, light winds tend east to
