A southeasterly airflow lies over the North Island today, areas of rain or showers for northeastern parts of the island while drier conditions prevail in the southwest. Mainly dry for much of the South Island under a ridge of high pressure.

Rain eases to showers this morning, showers more frequent in the north with
dry spells in the south. Fresh southeasterly winds.

Bay Of Plenty

Periods of rain, easing and clearing in the evening. Breezy
southeasterlies.

Waikato & Central North Island

Cloudy with areas of rain, easing and clearing in the evening. Conditions
drier about southwestern parts of the Central North Island with high cloud.
Southeasterly winds.
Highs: 12-14

Eastern North Island

Cloudy with patchy showers, some rain from afternoon. Easterlies at first
then southeast winds freshen from midday.
Highs: 12-13

Western North Island

Plenty of high cloud with a few sunny areas, east to southeaterly
winds.
Highs: 14-15

Wellington

Sunny areas and some high cloud, easterlies tend southeast in the
afternoon.
Highs: 13-14

Nelson

Mainly sunny with some high cloud possible, light winds.
Highs: 15-16

Marlborough

Cloudy periods with east to southeast winds, evening drizzle
possible.
