An anticyclone brings mainly settled and sunny weather across most of the country today, expect some cloud about Auckland northwards however. Some high cloud moves in later in the day for western parts of the North Island.

Auckland & Northland

Cloudy areas with light winds, there may be sunny breaks at times.

Highs: 16-17

Bay Of Plenty

Mostly sunny with light winds, some high cloud from late afternoon.

High: 15

Waikato & Central North Island

Mostly sunny with light winds, some high cloud from late afternoon.

Highs: 14-15

Eastern North Island

Mainly sunny with light winds.

Highs: 15-16

Western North Island

Mostly sunny with light winds, late high cloud.

Highs: 14-15

Wellington

Mostly sunny with some late high cloud, light northerlies.

Highs: 12

Nelson

Mainly sunny with light winds.

Highs: 14-15

Marlborough

Sunny with light winds.

High: 16

Canterbury

Mainly sunny with light winds.

Highs: 14-15

West Coast

Some cloud, sunny breaks at times. Light winds.

Highs: 12

Coastal Otago

Mainly sunny with light winds.

Highs: 12-13

Central Otago

Mostly sunny with light winds.

Highs: 9-10

Southland

Sunny spells with westerly winds.

Highs: 11-12
