Conditions ease overnight for many as an anticyclone from the Tasman Sea pushes closer towards New Zealand, the odd shower may still hang about the east coast of the North Island and Wellington however.

Showers clear later this evening, cold southerly winds. Clear spells develop overnight.

Clear with some cloud at times, cool southerly breezes.

Bay Of Plenty & Waikato
Mainly clear skies, some cloud possible at times. South to southwest breezes.
Low tonight: 0-2

Central North Island
The odd shower and snow flurry to 400m clearing this evening, cold south to southwest winds. Clear spells and some cloud overnight.

Eastern North Island
Showers, risk of hail at times. Snow flurries to 400m. Strong cold southwesterlies.

Western North Island
Showers clear this evening, cloudy periods remain overnight. Southerly breezes.

The odd shower clears overnight, strong south to southwest winds ease.

Clear skies, cloud about Marlborough clearing this evening. Light winds tending southwest in coastal areas and easing later.
