MESSY WEATHER IN NORTH – SETTLED EVERYWHERE ELSE

WeatherWatch.co.nz

A sub-tropical low developing north east of New Zealand is expected to create a “messy weekend” weather wise in the north and north east, according to head weather analyst Philip Duncan.  “There’s a large high over central New Zealand and while that will bring settled weather for the weekend for regions south of Central Plateau, a low in the north will make things unsettled”.

Duncan says Northland, Auckland, Coromandel, Bay of Plenty and East Cape should all see plenty of cloud, and an increase in south east winds and a few showers.  “The low wont really impact places until next week, but it’s not going to be a perfect weekend in those northern regions”.   Rainfall amounts are, however, expected to be minimal.

A few isolated heavy convection showers are possible today across the North Island.
