MAINLY SUNNY WEEKEND

WeatherWatch.co.nz

Warm days, cool nights.
Southerly change moving up on Sunday

A great weekend lies ahead weather-wise, especially for those north of Taupo.  A large high will spread a ridge over the entire North Island, centred near Auckland on Saturday.  “That means light winds and clear skies for many North Island places, and just a few scrappy clouds over the South” says Philip Duncan, head weather analyst at The Radio Network.  “The days will be warm with many places between 22 and 25 degrees but the nights will be much cooler than previous weeks”.

On Sunday a weak southerly change will move up the South Island reaching lower North Island places by Sunday night.  With it will be a few brief showers and a few degrees shaved off the temperatures.
