Rain arrived earlier than expected in some places today and yet others were left waiting for the liquid sunshine to hit.

Our Facebookers readers were pretty quick to comment with what was happening in their neighbourhood earlier today.
Peter in Christchurch said “warm and sunny in chch but there are some clouds around..looking forward to the T storms later!”.Cloud has certainly thickened up in Christchurch recently with light rain falling over some parts of the city.

Vanessa in South Canterbury had this to say “Raining in Timaru where my husband is at work, but just very cloudy 20mins north here at home in Winchester. I’m sure the rain’s not far away”.

Some Aucklanders were wondering when the promised rain would settle in.”no rain in Avondale Ak… and they cancelled the Grey Lynn Festival !!!” according to Hilary however rain has fallen since and petrolheads have been a little anxious looking towards the heavens”Overcast but no rain just yet in Warkworth. We are hoping for fine skies in Auckland for Speedway tonight. Not liking our chances very much”.
