December 1st is the start of summer so WeatherWatch.co.nz decided to check the sea surface temperatures at your favourite beach.
It’s no surprise that the north east is warmest (Bay of Islands to Bay of Plenty).
Hopefully the nor’west flow over the country for the next week or so may bring down some warmer waters.

It was only 15c in the far north in early October,same as June was.
