Sunny and calm weather may be the situation around much of the country through Tuesday, but it’s not sticking around long.

Wednesday sees a dramatic change coming in from the west, with cloud, strong winds and showers moving in for parts of both islands.

As the week moves on, the winds start to ramp up, particularly in the South Island – along with some potentially heavy rain at times.
