It looks like the wind is going to be quite severe in Palmerston North for today (23rd October) – will there be any warnings issued?

Will be blustery – a warning is always possible but the worst of the winds should be east and south of PN.

Really Phil.. Are we gonna get blown to smithereens tomorrow in chch?

Hi Daniel, damaging winds are possible in Christchurch on Thursday – although nor’westers can be a bit unpredictable by sometimes bringing pockets of calmer areas to some places as they pass over the Southern Alps, but this set-up has a high chance of reaching severe gale.
Cheers,

Kia ora Philip. Is there a surf/swell prediction on your site? I know you guys do enough already but its so accurate and informative and most surf sites are pathetic. Windy is reliable though. Thanks heaps and keep up the great work!

Kia ora Kev, the team at Ripple recently gave us these maps to use: https://www.weatherwatch.co.nz/maps-radars/marine/ripple Hope you find them helpful! We also have PredictWind on our site too (on the same page). We are working to improve this page in the new year too, thanks to the team at Ripple.
Cheers
Phil
