POLL RESULTS: Have you used your heater/fire yet?

This past week the summer memories felt a long way away as cold southerlies blew over the country along with squally showers.

Some of you have told us you’ve already lit your fire or switched on the heater/electric blanket for the first time this year – check out the results of our poll from this week.

And please note the poll is still live – so if you haven’t voted yet, feel free to!

Thought about it on a couple of nights during the week. The fire is set but haven’t put a match to it yet. Maybe this week.

Not required as yet in lower Northland. We luckily have a very insulated house. Plenty of firewood though for the coming months.

But have had my bed socks on 🙂

Yes I had the heater on for a bit on Wed & Thur night here in Kapiti.
I also chucked my hottie in the bed as I couldn’t find the cat to keep my feet warm!

I have had to light the fire several times in January and February as well but from the 1st of april, the fire has been lit many times…
…but I still think we are in for a mild winter as this La Nina continues.

Used electric heater here in St Mary’s Bay, Auckland a couple of nights earlier this week in the cold snap.

I turned on heating – just to see if it worked – for an hour or so the other day. It worked.

Maybe you could add another option to the poll – we would if we had heating! LOL. We are some of the unfortunate Christchurch residents with no main source of heating. It will be an unknown number of weeks away too. This past week has been tough temperature wise.

It’s been a bit of both here in Auckland. In the mornings I’ve needed a wee burst of heat from the heat pump just to take the chill off, but then in the afternoons it’s warmed up to the point where I’ve had to put the cool air on.
