We’ve come to the end of another year in weather – and 2016 has been nothing if not eventful!

We’ve had warmer than average conditions, a few big wintry blasts, plenty of rain in some areas and nowhere near enough in others – but we wanted to know how our readers felt about the year in weather.

We asked you to define the weather year as either “great”, “average” or “harsh” – and more than 60%, nearly two thirds, went for middle ground.

Just under a quarter rated the year as “harsh”, while the remaining 17% or so had a great year.

Here’s hoping 2017 will see an improvement for everyone who needs it – as we here at WeatherWatch.co.nz will do our level best to keep you up to date!
