This summer certainly hasn’t been our hottest – and many of our warmest days have come with cloud. Talking amongst our friends and family most people we know haven’t had a swim this summer – is that just us, or have you been cheated the hot, sunny, weather that would normally draw you to the beach, pool, lake or river?

I have swum in lake Pupuke almost Daily from mid – late Jan to end of feb and i was swiming in the viaduct yesterday (29th feb 2012) cleaning a boat hull but i was in a thin wetsuit to clean the hull

Xmas & New Year on Great Barrier Island and the water was freezing… last Saturday at Motuihe, Ocean Beach, was nice and warm.

I’ve had a couple of swims at long bay but nothing like previous years just because of the lack of hot sunny days.
