Antarctica NZ recruits move south today

32 new Antarctica New Zealand recruits will begin their journey south today, to learn more about Scott Base.

The crown entity has an annual budget of 15-million dollars for scientific work.

CEO Peter Beggs says the beginning of the Antarctic season is a key opportunity for kiwi scientists to learn more about the frozen continent.

He says Antarctica is constantly changing, and that has the ability to affect the rest of the world.

Researchers will also spend time at McMurdo Station.
