Today sees blustery southwesterlies cover New Zealand

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Showers ease during the day, some sun may break through at times especially afternoon onwards. Fresh west to southwesterly winds, brisk to strong about western coastal areas easing later in the evening / overnight.
Highs: 16-17

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Areas of rain, chance of a heavy fall or two. Winds blustery from the west or southwest then conditions easing from evening.
Highs: 13-16

Eastern North Island
Sunny areas with northwesterlies picking up, a gusty cool southwest change spreads northwards during the afternoon bringing showers which clear overnight.
Highs: 18-20

Wellington
Rain with gusty northerlies changing southerly late morning, rain eases to showers at night.
Highs: 14-15

Marlborough & Nelson
Cloudy with the odd spot of rain, rain more likely in the afternoon as southwesterlies freshen. Rain clears overnight.
Highs: 17-20

Canterbury
A gusty southwest change early this morning brings rain (may be briefly heavy for a time) then easing to showers by midday, clearing at night.
Highs: 12-14

West Coast
Morning rain eases to showers and sunny spells, showers clear in the evening. Fresh cool southwesterly winds.
Highs: 14-15

Southland & Otago
Early rain eases to showers, clearing later in the evening / overnight. Fresh cold southwesterly winds.
Highs: 12-16
