This story proved so popular when we first posted it we thought we’d place it back on the front page again!

With the recent interest in watching Wendy Petrie from One News doing a ‘fist pump’ while the camera was still rolling we decided to look into other TV bloopers – but of the weather kind.

All TV and radio presenters make mistakes from time to time – and in Wendy’s case it wasn’t even her fault!

Apart from the occasional technical and awkward mishaps our weather presenters seem to make very few… how shall we say it…’memorable’ bloopers.   So while we couldn’t find anything from NZ that we considered exceptionally funny (apart from one Jim Hickey comment below!) we’ve searched other media organisations around the world and found their best TV Weather Bloopers.

Clip 1 – Jim Hickey from One News comments on …well…the weather.

Clip 2 – Sometimes weather reporters are placed out in the field to show the full effect of severe weather…this reporter certainly got more than she bargained for!

Clip 3 – While the reporter in Clip 2 would’ve had a chance to redo the take – this poor reporter had his misfortune captured on live TV.

Clip 4 – It doesn’t matter what language you speak…laughing hysterically while trying to present the weather sounds the same!

Clip 5 – Many radio and TV presenters must fear this…during the middle of this weather reporter’s forecast he coughs and suddenly completely loses his voice.

Clip 6 – They say there are two things you should never do on live tv…work with animals and children.  This weather reporter found out the hard way (and does that kid really throw a snowball the size of basketball at him!).

Clip 7 – In this clip it’s the animals that…well….you’ll see.

Clip 8 – Some presenters are so professional they hardly even flinch when something goes wrong…like this guy when part of the large screen behind him falls off the wall.

Clip 9 – Another reporter out in the field… ohhh that’s gotta hurt.

Clip 10 – Another contagious laughing one…this American weather presenter can’t stop laughing live on TV!
