Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
The odd shower, more so in the morning. Drier areas from afternoon with some sun possible, perhaps more later in the day. Westerly winds.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly cloudy with the odd shower, dry areas becoming a little more frequent from afternoon with some sun possible. Breezy west to northwesterly winds.

Eastern North Island
Mainly sunny weather with west to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 18-23

Wellington
Mostly cloudy with breezy northwesterly winds. Breezy northwesterly winds becoming strong overnight with a risk of gales through Cook Strait.
Highs: 15-16

Marlborough & Nelson
Mostly sunny about Marlborough with some high cloud gradually increasing, northwesterlies pick up in the afternoon. Nelson sees some morning sun then cloud increases from afternoon.
Highs: 17-22

Canterbury
Mostly sunny with high cloud gradually increasing, north to northeasterly winds increase from afternoon becoming strong to gale overnight for some inland areas. Chance spot of rain in the evening otherwise mainly dry.
Highs: 16-19

West Coast
Mostly cloudy with the odd shower, rain moves into South Westland during the afternoon becoming heavy later in the evening / overnight. North to northeasterly winds increase becoming gusty overnight.
Highs: 14-15

Southland & Otago
Areas of sun and thickening high cloud, a few spots of rain possible from midday otherwise mainly dry. Rain more likely overnight for Southland. Light winds mostly although northerlies may pick up overnight for northern parts of Otago.
High: 13-16
