A gusty northwesterly airflow lies over the country tonight, rain or showers for many western regions and mainly dry out east with high cloud. A few brief spells of rain may make it to most eastern regions for a time.

Northland

Cloudy with the a few showers about, rain moves in later this evening, northerly winds tend northwest later in the night.

Auckland

Cloudy with the odd shower about, rain moves in later this evening / overnight. Northerly winds tend northwest later in the night.

Tonight’s Low: 13

Bay Of Plenty

A few showers about the rain overnight, possibly heavy. Northerly
winds.

Tonight’s Low: 12

Central North Island & Waikato

A few showers about then rain moves in later this evening / overnight.
Northerly winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 9-11

Eastern North Island

High cloud with northeasterly winds, a few spells of rain develop
overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 11-12

Taranaki

Showers about then rain later this evening heavy at times, brisk
northerlies tend northwest overnight.

Western North
Island
A few showers about, rain for Kapiti. More widespread
rain overnight. North to northwesterly winds.

Wellington

Rain, easing back to showers later this evening. Breezy northerlies.

Tonight’s Low: 10

Nelson

Cloudy with occasional showers, northeasterly winds tend more northerly
later this evening.

Tonight’s Low: 9

Marlborough

Rain, heavy about the Sounds then easing overnight. North to northwesterly
winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 8-9

Canterbury

Mostly cloudy with gusty northeasterlies near the coast easing this
evening, there may be a few spots of rain this evening then clearing. Cloud
breaks away overnight with northwesterlies freshening inland.

West Coast

Rain, heavy at times with northeasterlies changing northwest this
evening.

Tonight’s Lows: 8-9

Coastal Otago

Mostly cloudy with and spot of rain clearing this evening, gusty
northeasterlies ease with cloud breaking up a little overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 7

Central Otago

Areas of high cloud, rain at times mainly west of the Southern Lakes
district. There may be some clearing rain about far eastern parts of the region
this evening. Northerly winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 4-5

Southland

Cloud breaks away overnight, northerlies.

Tonight’s Low: 4
