Upper North Island

Sunny spells with the chance of a shower or two otherwise mainly dry. West to southwest winds.

Lower North Island

Mainly sunny along the east coast and about Wellington, northwesterlies pick up about Wellington, light winds elsewhere. In the west expect cloudy areas and occasional sun, chance of a shower or two otherwise mainly dry, westerly winds.

Upper South Island

Cloudy on the West Coast with the odd shower, mainly sunny about Nelson / Marlborough and Canterbury with light winds tend northwest inland. Some high cloud for the east coast, mainly later in the day.

Lower South Island

Cloudy in the west with the odd shower, sunny areas and some high cloud out east. Late afternoon / evening a few showers may pass through Southland / Otago with a west to southwest change.
