A ridge pushes in today from the west bringing some settled weather but not before a few morning showers clearing in the east and north of the North Island.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Areas of cloud about Northland and Auckland with a few morning showers then sunny areas lengthening into the afternoon. Mostly sunny for the Waikatao and Bay Of Plenty. Breezy Sou’Westerly winds.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

A mainly sunny day with southerly winds in the morning tending southwest in the afternoon.
Highs: 13

Eastern North Island

A few morning showers about in exposed coastal areas then clearing in the morning, mostly sunny elsewere and becoming mostly sunny right on the coast in the afternoon. The odd shower may hang about Gisborne till late afternoon however, winds brisk from the southwest but easing later.
Highs: 13-14

Wellington

Sunny areas with breezy southerlies, any showers about this morning clear by midday.
High: 11

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny with light winds.
Highs: 14-15

Canterbury

Becoming mostly sunny in the morning, Sou’Westerlies die out before midday near the coast. Light winds inland tend northwest in the afternoon.
Highs: 13-15

West Coast

A mainly sunny day with light winds, cloud increases about South Westland in the evening however and a few patchy light showers move in. Light winds mostly tending westerly during the day.
Highs: 12-13

Southland & Otago

Sunny areas and increasing high cloud during the day, later in the evening or overnight light winds change southwest with a few showers.
Highs: 13-17
