Cool southwesterlies ease during today with showers clearing for most this morning and sunny spells breaking through.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Sunny areas and some cloud with south to southwesterly winds, sunnier conditions by midday for the likes of the Waikato and Bay Of Plenty. Chance of a brief shower or two during the day about Northland and Auckland otherwise dry.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Any morning showers clear then expect sunny areas and some cloud with
southerly winds easing later in the day.
Highs: 18-21

Eastern North Island

Morning showers ease then clear, remaining fairly cloudy with cloudy not
breaking till evening. Cool southwesterlies die out later in the day.
Highs: 16-18

Wellington

Periods of cloud and a few sunny spells, any early showers clear. Breezy
southerlies ease later.
High: 16

Marlborough & Nelson

Morning showers clear then expect sunny areas and some cloud with southerly
winds easing later in the day. Nelson may continue to have a shower or two
through the afternoon before clearing in the evening.
Highs: 15-16

Canterbury

Any early showers clear, cloud breaks later in the day with sunny areas
moving in. Cool southwesterlies.
High: 12

West Coast

Mostly sunny weather with light southeasterlies easing in the morning,
winds tend westerly in the afternoon with a few clouds slowly moving into North
Westland bringing the chance of an evening shower.
Highs: 19-20

Southland & Otago

Morning cloud breaks to sunny areas, cloud continuing to be a bit more
frequent during the day about the Southland coastline even with the chance of a
shower or two. West to southwesterly winds gradually ease.
High: 13-16
