Rain about the West Coast of the South Island eases this evening to the odd shower, some rain spreading from the west into Otago dries up this afternoon. Mainly dry conditions elsewhere however overnight a few showers move into the southwestern corner of the North Island (Auckland down through to Kapiti) as a weakening front moves northwards.
