Upper North Island

Any early rain eases to the odd patchy shower, some sun may even break through this afternoon otherwise remaining mostly cloud. Breezy humid northeasterly winds. High’s in the low to mid twenties.

Lower North Island

Mostly cloudy with a few showers, chance of an isolated heavy fall or two then easing this evening. Kapiti and Wellington city stays mainly dry. Along the east coast expect mostly cloudy skies, there may be a shower or two mainly about the ranges of Wairarapa this afternoon. North to northeasterly winds. High’s in the low to mid twenties, perhaps high twenties for some parts along the east coast.

Upper South Island

Any morning cloud breaks away then becoming mostly sunny this afternoon for most, a touch of high cloud at times. Cloud builds a little about inland hills and ranges this afternoon bringing the low risk of an isolated shower. Light winds tend onshore this afternoon. High’s in the low to mid twenties.

Lower South Island

Showers in the east this morning then clearing away, sunny areas break through this afternoon. Elsewhere expect morning cloud to break to sunny areas and a touch of high cloud. Light winds tend onshore this afternoon. High’s in the low to mid twenties, high twenties to early thirties about inland Southland and inland Otago.
