Humid winds coming down out of the subtropics are set to spread across New Zealand – not just this weekend, but also right through most of next week.

Expect heavy rain in the lower south west of the South Island, and hot northwest winds for the east coast of the South Island.

Next week there could be heavy rain moving into the north and we will have more details about that on Monday.
