A cold blast from the past – these were our favourite 10 photos from the Winter Gallery of 2009… not quite how winter 2011 is looking so far…but remember, only early days yet.

Extremely rare – ice on an Auckland beach in the middle of the day.  “We found a skin of ice on a pond in the shadow of a hill at Karepiro Bay on the Okura walkway just north of Auckland.
