If you have any questions about functionality of our website(s) or app, trying to locate maps or data, or have a simple comment/feedback - please post a comment below!
As of 2024 we will no longer be publishing questions related to weather forecasts if they are answered via our hyper-local hourly & 10 day forecasts, weather maps and regular daily and monthly weather & climate videos.
We’re a small NZ business with limited resources to respond to general weather questions. Our social media pages may be helpful to you, especially if you want to often talk (or groan!) about your local weather. You can find more resources from us here if that’s your thing.

Thanks for your support!
Don’t forget to check out our RuralWeather.co.nz website (great for event planning or attending + camping!) and also, our brand new Weather Alerting App!

Hi Weatherwatch. Just letting you know that the site IMASTE31 has not read/displayed any temperature over the last few days. Love your work, btw. R

Hi Robyn, thanks for the kind comment and letting us know. We don’t have any control over the weather stations other than displaying them or not. So if you think it’s a long term problem we can remove it – or give it a week and see if it comes right (feel free to contact us again if you still want us to remove it).
Cheers

“Rain Trends for Whangarei, Northland” shows no rain at all for Thursday 25/04.
“Brief Outlook for Whangarei, Northland” shows 20% chance of rain 2.6mm.
The next day the “Rain Trends for Whangarei, Northland” shows 4.3mm for Friday 26/04. And “Brief Outlook for Whangarei, Northland” shows 50%

Hi Carla,
The reason they don’t perfectly allign is because the Trends and Outlook show different 24 hour starting times.
The Rain Trends display all hourly data for 10 days out – so it’s easy for us to display each day “from midnight to tonight”.
However, the Brief Outlook displays rainfall slightly differently: The 24 hour period is 7 hours later, capturing rainfall “from 7am to 7am the next day”. This is the way that data comes packaged. We are looking to make that clearer in the app to help though.
Kind regards
WW

I always thought all data were from midnight to midnight. Thanks, that makes more sense. Keep up the good work!

Hi Carla – The 7am one is used around the world (some even have 9am) but we’re hoping to still make it from midnight to midnight if we can in our next round of data talks with our suppliers…it’s just more logical that way. Thanks for the kind words of support!

Where does the chance of rain come from for the day?
I looked at tomorrow’s chance of rain for my area and it’s 0% but when I look at the hourly, It ranges from 1-14%, none of them is 0%
Thanks for the reply. My area is Belmont. Looks very different from Auckland

Hi Vict, sounds like it’s part of a bigger glitch we have. We’re looking into it and hope to have a fix next week. Thanks for the location that’s helpful.
