Hi there - that press release was sent to the media yesterday afternoon - since then we've revised down the risk for severe gales but still expect strong to gale force gusts in exposed parts of the city.  The risk was never for during the day - it was from 6pm tonight to 6am tomorrow.    Worst winds will be around the Gulf and out towards Great Barrier Island. Rain is more of a feature for Auckland.

Wet. Easter usually is if I recall the deluges of the past 40 years correctly. We have occasionally had a good one but..........

It's possible but not guaranteed!  Some of our data suggests that it may we quite a dry day for you, while other models show rain hovering around the northern side of Auckland.  But our feeling is that you should be able to get some gardening done tomorrow, yes.   As for all day - the jury is out until the morning :)

sorry to add to your problems, but when you click change region, then click on a region it wont change... but when you click on a region on the map, it will change.

Just click "other regions"

From what I can see on metservice, it hasn't gotten past 16.5 , don't even think it's reached 16 in the waitaks

Hi there - it's looking good for cricket with sunny and cloudy spells and light easterlies.  20 to 30% chance of a shower from some  afternoon cloud build ups.

Hi there - the maps don't have times that far out because it simply wouldn't be accurate this far in advance, but generally speaking there is a 30% risk of a shower on Wednesday.

Hi Amanda - our longrange rain maps do indicate a low passing over the upper North Island bringing rain that weekend - but very early days yet, so keep checking those rain maps.

Hi Amanda - all the models are still indicating late Sunday so the window does look big enough to give Saturday dry weather - but it may become cloudy.  Latest data shows just a 10% chance of rain on Saturday and a 40% chance on Sunday afternoon rising to 60% on Sunday night.

Hi there - it's down to reasons 1) Because we use different models - we are independent of their forecasts.  2)Their forecasts beyond 5 days are entirely computer generated.

The rain on Sunday may not arrive until the end of the day - but some models suggest it could arrive in the morning - so we're sticking with "rain developing" at this stage, as it's too early to have timing nailed down.  Most models suggest Sunday night will be wet at this early stage - but we need a couple more sweeps to be more certain, which will be 24 hours away.

We often have quite different forecasts to MetService - up to our readers to decide who, in the long run, is more accurate :)

Agreed! - and we just lowered it to 20 a short time ago.  Thought the sun might've popped out a little earlier but the clouds had other plans.  20 will even be a struggle for some closer to the Tasman thanks to the cool sou'wester.

No, I'm sorry.  Over a month away is just too far into the future to get specific.  Even broad, general forecasts are a bit dodgy that far out.
