Weather Video: Low pressure system to take until Friday to cross NZ

Filed in:

A large slow moving low is about to move across New Zealand, taking the entire working week to do so. Rain spreads across western areas of both islands today while eastern areas remaining mostly dry.

The low itself crosses the country around Tuesday to Thursday and as it does so it will bring more rain in to the west (especially of the North Island) while a colder southerly kicks in mid to late week.

This colder S to SE wind will bring snow to the ranges of the South Island perhaps to 400 or 500 metres.

Over Friday and Saturday a sou’west change sweeps through clearing showers as high pressure builds.
