VIDEO: High pressure dominates this weekend but sub-tropics move in next week

The huge high that has been affecting our weather all this week is now moving in and across the country for the weekend.

It means more of the same weather - light winds, clear skies, cold nights and mild afternoons.

However there will be more of a breezes over the South Island and lower North Island on Saturday, with a few gusts here and there but by Sunday that calms down again.

By Sunday evening - and the first half of next week - a sub-tropical flow from near Fiji spreads down across a large portion of New Zealand.
