Monday night’s national forecast

Anticyclonic conditions keep the weather fairly calm tonight although expect plenty of cloud. The odd shower in some western regions and a few clearing showers in the east of the North Island and inland eastern parts of the South Island.

Auckland & Northland

West to southwest breezes with areas of cloud. low risk of the odd brief
shower otherwise mainly dry.
Tonight’s Lows: 13-14

Central North Island, Waikato
& Bay Of Plenty

Some cloud with westerly breezes. Chance of a light shower overnight about
the Waikato and Central North Island.
Tonight’s Lows: 10-13

Eastern North Island

Some cloud with sea breezes easing later this evening, chance of a shower
then clearing overnight.
Tonight’s Lows: 12-13

Western North Island

Cloudy spells with west to northwest breezes, chance of the odd
shower.
Tonight’s Lows: 11-12

Wellington

Clear spells and some cloud, northerly breezes.
Tonight’s Low: 14

Nelson

Some cloud, northerlies ease later this evening to light winds
overnight.
Tonight’s Low: 13

Marlborough

Cloudy areas with sea breezes easing this evening, light winds overnight.
Isolated showers inland gradually clear.
Tonight’s Lows: 11-12

Canterbury

Fairly cloudy for most tonight, easterlies near the coast with light winds
inland. Isolated showers about the foothills gradually clear.
Tonight’s Lows: 11-12

West Coast

Cloudy periods with west to southwest breezes, the odd light shower or
drizzle patch north of Haast.
Tonight’s Lows: 12-13

Coastal Otago

Cloudy spells with southerly breezes easing later this evening.
Tonight’s Lows: 10-11

Central Otago

Some cloud with southerlies easing overnight, any isolated showers clear
this evening.
Tonight’s Lows: 8-9

Southland

Areas of cloud with south to southeast breezes, easing overnight to light
winds.
Tonight’s Lows: 8-9
