A weak low pressure system passes over the North Island on Wednesday while a light south to southwesterly airflow spreads over New Zealand.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Morning showers clear then sunny spells break through with light southwesterly winds. Showers may hang about Northland into the afternoon however especially in the west.
Highs: 17-18

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Early rain or showers clear then cloud breaks to afternoon sunny spells, light southerly winds.
Highs: 11-17

Eastern North Island
Any early showers clear then sunny spells break through, light south to southwesterly winds.
High: 16

Wellington
Sunny spells, light southerlies develop around midday.
High: 15

Marlborough & Nelson
Morning cloud breaks to sunny spells, light winds.
High: 16

Canterbury
Mostly cloudy with light south to southwesterly winds, there may be a drizzle patch or two mainly inland.
Highs: 12-13

West Coast
Morning cloud breaks to sunny spells, light winds.
Highs: 15-16

Southland & Otago
Mostly cloudy with light winds, conditions areas mainly dry however there may be some drizzle about at times.
Highs: 10-12
