Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly cloudy, the odd shower about Northland, perhaps some rain in the east. Rain this morning about Auckland possibly heavy then easing to showers. Showers for the Waikato and Bay Of Plenty turning to rain this afternoon with heavy falls and a chance of thunder, heavy rain most likely about the Bay Of Plenty. Northeasterly winds.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Rain, heavy at times from afternoon then easing in the evening. Northeasterly winds.
Highs: 19-22

Eastern North Island
Cloudy with the odd shower then rain moves in during the afternoon, heavy at times from evening. Northeasterly winds.
Highs: 20-23

Wellington
Rain, possibly heavy for a time mainly in the evening then easing overnight. North to northeasterly winds.
High: 19

Marlborough & Nelson
Areas of rain with heavy falls in some areas, rain eases in the evening or overnight. Northeasterly winds.
Highs: 18-20

Canterbury
Areas of rain ease to the odd shower and dry spells from afternoon, some rain about northern parts of North Canterbury may be heavy then easing in the evening. Light south to southwesterly winds.

West Coast
Early heavy rain eases to showers, heavy rain may continue about Buller till around midday then easing. Northeasterly winds. Winds from the northeast, tending southeast about southern Fiordland.

Southland & Otago
Rain, heavy falls at times. Breezy southeasterlies, winds may be strong about the coast.
