A ridge lies over the country tonight extending out from an anticyclone in the Pacific Ocean. Areas north of Gisborne, eastern Northland and areas south of Haast may see the odd shower. Heavy isolated showers about the Central North Island clear this evening.

Northland
Cloudy areas with east to southeast breezes.
There may be a brief shower at times in eastern areas.

Auckland

Clear spells and periods of cloud with light easterly winds.

Tonight’s Low: 14

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island

Clear areas, some will see cloud, a chance of overnight fog patches too. Heavy isolated showers about the Central North Island clearing this evening. The Bay Of Plenty may see a few showers towards dawn tomorrow morning. Light
winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 10-15

Eastern North Island

Clear spells and some cloud with easterlies easing this evening, cloudier
skies about Gisborne northwards with the chance of a shower.

Tonight’s Low: 12-14

Western North Island

Mainly clear skies, there may be some low cloud or fog towards dawn. Light
westerlies ease away this evening.

Tonight’s Lows: 11-12

Wellington

Mainly clear skies, northerlies ease this evening.

Tonight’s Low: 13

Nelson

Mainly clear skies with some high cloud, northerly winds ease this
evening.

Tonight’s Lows: 12-13

Marlborough

Mainly clear skies, northerly winds ease this evening.

Tonight’s Low: 10

Canterbury

Areas of high cloud, light winds inland with easterlies near the coast
easing. There may be some low cloud form overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 10

West Coast

Patchy light rain or drizzle south of Haast, clear spells and some high
cloud further north. Light winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 12-13

Coastal Otago

Some high cloud, light easterlies ease this evening. Some low cloud
possible overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 12

Central Otago

Clear with some high cloud, light winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 10-12

Southland

Clear spells with light southwesterlies easing away this evening, chance of a spit of rain this evening then clearing.

Tonight’s Low: 11
