Weather Video: Stubborn low pressure remains anchored west of NZ

Filed in:

There’s a fair bit of high pressure surrounding New Zealand right now but it’s hard to notice it with a low forming just west of the country and feeding cloud, drizzle and windy east to north easterlies for some.

While the bulk of the rain remains out at sea the low will brush western areas close enough to bring in some wet weather - drizzle, showers and even some patchy rain further south.

Eastern areas look much drier and some places will be calm too, still somewhat under a ridge of high pressure to the east.

By the weekend another low in the sub-tropics will be coming close to New Zealand but currently isn’t forecast to get any closer and cross land
