Video: Surfers, big low forming north of NZ this weekend

Filed in:

A significant low pressure or storm system will form north of New Zealand on Sunday and it may track very close to areas recently hit by flooding. The good news, for now, is that modelling suggests it may track just offshore to our east meaning New Zealand is spared severe weather.

It’s certainly close enough to keep an eye on but hopefully the large high in control of our weather today - and across this weekend - will win out, bringing an extended period of dry and settled weather to many regions for another week.

In a nutshell high pressure dominates New Zealand’s weather this weekend with a light easterly flow in Northland bringing a few showers.
