Weather Video: A few more days of showers then becoming settled, but not for long

While conditions may have been calm this morning, the afternoon could become unstable about inland eastern parts of the country due to warming surface temperatures and converging winds. A front closes in from the west pushing in this evening and overnight for western areas.

Cold, strong southwesterlies spread over New Zealand on Wednesday bringing rain or showers yet again to many regions. A ridge brings some respite on Thursday, however a few pesky showers are still to clear the North Island during the day.

Friday sees a front move northwards over the South Island during the day, northwesterlies preceding this front bring warm conditions in the east.
