Video: A frustrating forecast ahead of sub-tropical low

Filed in:

The forecast this week is a bit of a confusing, frustrating one as high and low pressure battles it out to dominate our weather. The week kicks off with high pressure and mainly dry conditions. Monday and Tuesday will see high pressure in many areas but a developing nor’east flow, especially in northern New Zealand, make bring in a few clouds.

Showers in the north on Wednesday will turn to areas of rain as the centre of the low tracks closer. The low has a very large centre and while not especially stormy it does make forecasting trickier due its placement - but there’s a chance of rain with isolated heavy falls around Thursday as the low moves through.

By Friday winds will switch more south east in many areas.

It’s a messy forecast but we’ve done our best to nail in the week ahead.
