An anticyclone is centred west of the North Island in the Tasman Sea today while a west to southwesterly airflow covers New Zealand.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Mostly sunny weather with southwesterly winds, a little breezy during the afternoon then easing later in the evening. Winds may tend light northerly in the afternoon for the Bay Of Plenty.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Mainly sunny with westerly winds, breezy during the afternoon.
Highs: 19-24

Eastern North Island

Sunny with light winds in the morning, afternoon east to northeasterly winds (sea breeze).
Highs: 23-25

Wellington

Sunny with northerly winds.
High: 19

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny with light winds in the morning, afternoon north to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 23-25

Canterbury

Sunny with east to northeasterly winds along the coast, warmer northwesterlies inland with warmer termperatures.
Highs: 23-27

West Coast

A mix of sun and cloud, westerly winds. Cloud thickens later in the evening about Fiordland with showers there overnight.
Highs: 17-22

Southland & Otago

Mainly sunny with north to northwesterly winds, a chance winds may tend northeast in the afternoon right on the coast (Coastal Otago).
Highs: 24-28
