Northeasterly winds strengthen across the country today, the odd shower in the west especially the South Islands West Coast where rain moves in from afternoon. High cloud out east.

Northland

Cloudy with the odd light shower, mainly morning. Breezy northeasterlies, strong at times overnight.

High: 17

Auckland

Mostly cloudy skies with any early light showers clearing, northeasterly
winds increasing.

High: 17

Bay Of Plenty

Becoming mostly cloudy in the morning, northeasterly winds increase
overnight.

Highs: 15-16

Waikato & Central North Island

Chance of morning fog then a few sunny spells, becoming mostly cloudy in
the afternoon. Northeasterly winds, increasing overnight.

Highs: 12-16

Eastern North Island

Sunny with some high cloud developing from afternoon. Light northerly
winds, increasing overnight.

Highs: 15-16

Taranaki

Cloudy with some morning rain then clearing by midday. Dry for the rest of
the day with cloudy skies remaining, brisk northeasterly winds.

High: 15

Western North Island

Sunny spells and increasing cloud, northerly winds. Skies mostly cloudy by
evening.

High: 16

Wellington

Becoming cloudy early in the morning, the odd spell of rain from late
morning then easing mid afternoon. Northerlies becoming strong overnight.

High: 14

Nelson

Skies becoming cloudy early on, increasing northerly winds with patchy rain
or drizzle from late morning. Northerlies may be strong at times
overnight.

High: 13

Marlborough

Thickening high cloud, spots of rain at times from midday. Increasing
northerlies, strong overnight.

Highs: 14-15

Canterbury

Sunny areas and thickening high cloud, northeasterlies increase.

Highs: 13-14

West Coast

Cloudy with drizzle patches, rain develops during the afternoon.
Northeasterlies freshen from midday.

High: 13

Coastal Otago

Sunny areas at first in the morning however expect thickening high cloud
too, becoming cloudy by midday. Northeasterly winds freshen.

High: 11

Central Otago

Becoming cloudy in the morning. Northeasterly winds, breezy at times from
midday.

High: 11

Southland

Becoming cloudy in the morning. Northeasterly winds, breezy at times from
midday.

High: 9-10
