A west to southwest airflow lies over the country tonight, showers about mainly in the west. Showers south of Banks Peninsula clear this evening then overnight southerlies freshen about Otago bringing further showers in the east.

Northland

Periods of cloud with westerly winds, chance of a shower or two mainly this evening in the west.

Tonight’s Lows: 9-11

Auckland

Periods of cloud with the odd shower, showers a little less likely overnight with long dry spells developing. Westerly winds.

Tonight’s Low: 12

Bay Of Plenty

Clear spells with westerly winds.

Tonight’s Low: 9

Central North Island & Waikato

Periods of cloud and occasional showers, more so in the west. Westerly
winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 7-9

Eastern North Island

Mainly clear skies with northwesterly winds, gusty about the
Wairarapa.

Tonight’s Lows: 9-10

Taranaki

Breezy westerlies with occasional showers.

Tonight’s Low: 10

Western North Island

Occasional showers with breezy northwesterlies.

Tonight’s Low: 8

Wellington

Some cloud, a few showers developing this evening then mostly clearing
around midnight. Gusty northwesterlies ease later.

Tonight’s Lows: 7-8

Nelson

A period of showers this evening then clearing as northerlies change
westerly.

Tonight’s Low: 6

Marlborough

WNW winds ease overnight, clear spells and some cloud. Chance of a shower
or two this evening otherwise dry.

Tonight’s Low: 4

Canterbury

Showers, (some heavy with a risk of hail and thunder) mainly south of about
Banks Peninsula clearing during this evening. A period of southwesterlies then
easing. Around dawn tomorrow southwesterlies freshen south of Banks Peninsula
bringing some cloud and a few showers.

Tonight’s Lows: 4-5

West Coast

Showers, some heavy with thunderstorms easing this evening,
southwesterlies.

Tonight’s Lows: 4-5

Coastal Otago

Showers with a risk of hail easing this evening, southwesterlies ease.
Overnight southerlies freshen bringing further showers.

Tonight’s Low: 6

Central Otago

Cloudy periods and a few showers, light winds tend southwest
overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 2-3

Southland

Occasional showers with westerlies changing southerly this evening, showers
then clear overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 5
