Westerlies lie over the country once again today with high pressure to the north of the country and low pressure in the Southern Ocean. Excpect showers at times out west with sunnier conditions in the east.

Auckland & Northland
The odd shower now and then, dry sunny spells too. Breezy west to southwest winds.
Highs: 15-16

Bay Of Plenty
A few morning showers clear then becoming sunny by late morning, breezy westerly winds.
Highs: 15-16

Central North Island & Waikato
Morning showers then easing becoming few and far between with long dry spells during the afternoon, sunny spells too. Expect breezy west to southwest winds.
Highs: 12-14

Eastern North Island
Sunny with west to northwest breezes, brisk at times about Wairarapa.
Highs: 16-17

Western North Island
The odd shower, mainly morning. Long dry spells too with sunny breaks now and then. Breezy west to northwest winds.
High: 14

Wellington
Sunny with brisk northwesterly winds, which ease a little in the evening.
High: 13

Nelson
Sunny with west to southwest winds.
High: 14

Marlborough
Sunny with westerly winds.
Highs: 14-15

Canterbury
Mostly sunny with light winds near the coast, west to northwest breezes inland.

West Coast
Showers at times with westerly breezes, showers ease off at night possibly clearing.
High: 11

Coastal Otago
Sunny with some cloud, strong gusty west to southwest winds. The odd shower at times mainly south of about Dunedin.

Central Otago
Sunny with some cloud, chance of the odd shower at times mainly in the west otherwise mainly dry. Gusty westerlies.
