An anticyclone covers most of New Zealand today however it doesn’t mean cloud free weather for all.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Mainly sunny weather, a few clouds early morning then again in the afternoon with the low risk of an isolated shower. Light winds then afternoon sea breezes.
Highs: 24-27

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Some morning cloud then mostly sunny, southeasterly winds freshen in the morning.
Highs: 24-25

Eastern North Island

Cloud about the Wairarapa spreads into Hawkes Bay during the afternoon then further north in the evening. Some drizzle possible as this cloud spreads northwards, areas of sun before cloud moves in. Cool southerly winds.
Highs: 22-24

Wellington

A mostly cloudy morning then afternoon sunny spells, breezy southerly winds.
High: 18

Marlborough & Nelson

Morning cloud breaks to sunny spells, east to southeast winds for Marlborough. Afternoon northerlies about Nelson.
High: 22-23

Canterbury

Morning cloud with a chance of drizzle then breaking to afternoon sunny spells, easterly winds.
Highs: 18-21

West Coast

Mostly sunny weather, cloud builds a little in the afternoon about Buller bringing the risk of an isolated shower. Light winds tend onshore after midday.
Highs: 22-26

Southland & Otago

Any morning cloud clears then mostly sunny with light winds.
Highs: 19-25
