A westerly airflow lies over the country tonight, dry in the east with high cloud. Drizzle then rain moves onto the South Island’s West Coast, a few drizzle patches may make it into western parts of the North Island too.

Northland

Mainly clear skies this evening although some cloud can be expected overnight especially in the west. West to southwest winds ease.

Tonight’s Lows: 7-11

Auckland

Cloud increases this evening, west to southwest winds.

Tonight’s Low: 10

Bay Of Plenty

Mainly clear skies this evening, some cloud overnight. West to southwest
winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 8-9

Waikato & Central North Island

Mainly clear skies to start however cloud increases later this evening,
westerly winds, chance of a drizzle patch towards dawn.

Tonight’s Lows: 6-8

Eastern North Island

Clear skies with northeasterlies near the coast easing this evening,
northwesterlies freshen overnight especially about the Wairarapa.

Tonight’s Lows: 6-7

Taranaki

Cloudy periods with breezy westerlies.

Tonight’s Low: 10

Western North Island

Cloudy periods, some drizzle possible overnight. Northwesterly winds.

Tonight’s Low: 10

Wellington

Cloudy periods with brisk northwesterlies.

Tonight’s Low: 10

Nelson

Mainly clear with some high cloud, thickening overnight. Southwesterlies
ease this evening.

Tonight’s Low: 8

Marlborough

Mainly clear skies with some high cloud, northwesterlies.

Tonight’s Lows: 7-8

Canterbury

Mainly clear skies with some thin high cloud thickening overnight, ENE
winds ease near the coast perhaps tending northwest. Expect gusty
northwesterlies inland.

Tonight’s Lows: 6-8

West Coast

Cloudy areas with drizzle about South Westland, pushing further north this
evening. Rain moves into South Westland overnight with heavy falls possible,
rain gradually picks up about North Westland after midnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 9-10

Coastal Otago

Thickening high cloud with easterlies tending northwest this evening, some
rain moves in overnight with a southwest change.

Tonight’s Low: 8

Central Otago

Mostly cloudy with breezy west to northwest winds, some rain moves in
overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 6

Southland

High cloud with gusty northwesterlies, rain moves in later this evening with a westerly
change.

Tonight’s Low: 7
