Mainly sunny with light southeasterly winds, some cloud possible about Northland at times.

Lower North Island

Mostly sunny in the west from Wellington through to Taranaki, southeast winds tend a little more onshore this afternoon. Mostly cloudy along the east coast, drizzle patches dry out during the afternoon. Winds from the south.

Upper South Island

Mostly cloudy in the west, perhaps a shower or two with gentle westerly winds. Mainly sunny about Nelson through to Canterbury with a touch of high cloud, afternoon north to northeasterly winds.

Lower South Island

Sunny areas and some high cloud, winds generally from the west. Afternoon northeasterlies about coastal Otago. Cloudy areas in the west with the odd shower possible.
