Upper North Island

Mostly sunny weather with light winds, afternoon sea breezes.

Lower North Island

Mostly sunny with west to northwesterly winds in the west, sunny in the east with light northeasterly winds. Wellington sees mainly sunny conditions with brisk northerly winds.

Upper South Island

Mostly sunny about Nelson and along the east coast after any morning cloud breaks away, there may be some high cloud about. North to northeasterly winds gradually tend northwest. Periods of cloud along the West Coast with northwesterly winds, chance of a drizzle patch or two otherwise dry.

Lower South Island

Sunny areas and high cloud with light northeasterlies near the coast in the east, west to northwest winds inland. There may be a spot or two of rain in the evening about Southland and south of Otago Peninsula in the east. Northwesterlies on the West Coast with cloudy periods, chance of a drizzle patch or two.
