Snow falls in Wellington

Filed in:

Snow flurries are being reported to WeatherWatch.co.nz across Wellington city this morning as a burst of intense showers in the cold southerly moves in.

Snow has closed SH2 over the Rimutaka Ranges and WeatherWatch.co.nz says while the snow level is generally around 300metres the big squally showers and strong winds are helping push snow flurries down towards sea levels at times.

Mostly the city is being affected by frequent and intense hail showers - but the strong winds and big clouds are helping pushing isolated flurries down much lower.

Enjoy!
