A low positions itself north of the North Island today directing in a southeasterly airflow meanwhile an anticyclone sits over the South Island bringing mainly settled conditions.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Plenty of high cloud. Showers for Northland, Great Barrier Island and Coromandel during the day will perhaps turn to rain for a time afternoon / evening. Southeasterly winds, strong about eastern coastal areas Coromandel northwards.
Highs: 17-23

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Sunny areas and some high cloud, mid to low level cloud will bank up about ranges further to the east. Southeasterly winds, a little breezy about coastal southern Taranaki.
Highs: 17-23

Eastern North Island
Mostly cloudy with the odd drizzle patch or light shower, southeasterly winds.
Highs: 16-18

Wellington
Sunny spells with south to southeasterly winds.
High: 16

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny spells for Marlborough, a mostly sunny day about Nelson. East to southeasterly breezes, afternoon northerlies for Nelson.
Highs: 17-20

Canterbury
Morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, easterly winds.
Highs: 16-18

West Coast
Mostly sunny, some cloud builds a little about the ranges inland during the afternoon. Risk of a late afternoon / evening isolated shower for Buller otherwise mainly dry. Light winds in the morning then afternoon sea breezes.
Highs: 17-23

Southland & Otago
Mostly sunny after any morning cloud breaks away, south to southwesterly winds. Afternoon easterlies for coastal Otago.
Highs: 14-23
