Slack pressure brings sun for some regions, areas of cloud in others. Some parts may become unstable this afternoon.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Morning showers about Northland may be heavy then easing. Sunny spells elsewhere with the odd isolated shower in the afternoon, especially about the Waikato and Bay Of Plenty with a chance of thunder / hail then easing evening. Light winds at first then Sou’West winds pick up.
Highs: 17-18

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Cloudy areas and the odd shower, clearing in the evening. Light winds tend westerly in the afternoon.
Highs: 14-17

Eastern North Island
Sunny spells, showers develop in the afternoon then clear in the evening. Showers may be heavy inland especially about the ranges with a risk of thunderstorms / hail. Light winds tend southwest in the afternoon.
Highs: 16-17

Wellington
Morning cloud with a risk of drizzle then afternoon sunny spells break through, southerly winds.
High: 14

Marlborough & Nelson
Areas of cloud, showers develop in the afternoon, some may be heavy (low risk of thunder) then clearing in the evening. Light winds.
Highs: 15-16

Canterbury
Morning cloud / drizzle then afternoon sunny spells, isolated showers develop in the afternoon for inland areas, some may be heavy then clearing in the evening. Southerlies tend easterly after midday.
Highs: 12-14

West Coast
Mostly sunny with light winds, some cloud moves into South Westland during the afternoon dragging in a few showers.
Highs: 14-17

Southland & Otago
Mostly sunny about Southland and inland Otago with light northerly winds. Coastal Otago is a little cloudier although some sun breaks through in the afternoon, northeasterlies freshen. Risk of an isolated shower in the afternoon otherwise mainly dry.
