A gusty southeasterly airflow lies over the North Island today, a few showers clip exposed northeastern areas and along the east coast. The South Island has a ridge of high pressure bringing mainly settled weather.
Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Cloudy areas and occasional sun, gusty southeasterly winds. The odd shower moves over Great Barrier Island and Coromandel. A few showers also about Northland especially in the morning in the east.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Sunny areas with breezy southeasterly winds, gusty about Taranaki then easing later in the day.
Highs: 10-13

Eastern North Island

Patchy showers or drizzle with breezy southeasterly winds.
Highs: 12-13

Wellington

Morning cloud and the chance of a few showers then breaking to sunny areas, breezy southeasterly winds.
High: 11

Marlborough & Nelson

Any morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather. Breezy southeasterly winds, easing from afternoon.
Highs: 11-12

Canterbury

Mostly sunny with some high cloud, light east to northeast winds.
High: 10

West Coast

Mostly sunny with southeasterly winds dying out in the morning.
Highs: 11-12

Southland & Otago

After a heavy frost expect mostly sunny weather with some high cloud, light winds.
Highs: 7-10
